The Way We Look at Old Age

We all grow old. This is the adamant truth which everybody has to face. We can not run from it. However unfortunately nobody wants to take this truth. Every one is behaving as old age is not going to come to him. This is clear from our behavior towards the elderly. Day by day lot of example comes to surface where some one has misbehaved their elders. Elders are treated in way as they are useless. People forget that these are the same elders who responsible for our growth.

They have sacrificed golden part of their life for our growth. They have done everything for us, but they can do for us. Still knowing the most of facts, our behavior doesn?t change towards them. Let?s forget all the elders, our behavior even towards our parents are not good. They are treated like wastage in homes. Situations become even worst when they gave all their holding to us. After this they become of no use to us. There are many examples in the world, where children have taken everything of their parents and after that thrown them in open.

This thing is not restricted to any country, religion or caste. This is a common practice every where. Why this degradation in our values coming. The people who have grown us from a small innocent being to a adult man and we are doing this to him. People who are not taking care of their parents, how we can expect from them that they will take of other elders. In the golden years people again become weak like child and need extra care from the society.

This not a big demands, when we compare with their sacrifices for societies. A society can remain in healthy state, if everyone in it is taken care of. We can not make a healthy society unless we take care of our elders which are main part of our society. Why we forget this simple truth that we will also grow old. Due to our attitude, some elderly has to go through many difficulties and exploitation. These situations are some time so inhuman that we can not imagine them.

They are some time tortured and even murdered by the servants. They are forced to beg for food. For me this is biggest crime which as adult we are committing and we must have to realize it. Second thing the desires of elders are not many. They feel happy seeing us happy. They demands from us only small-2 happiness. Only few hours a week time of us is enough for them. But we have become so much selfish that we can not see this simple truth.
