One day, a female friend asked me to go visit Benny Hinn.
Benny Hinn is a charismatic church preacher that can heal people.
I read in http://wikipedia.com that many people think he’s a fraud. Many believe that his miracles are caused by suggestion, positive thinking, hypnosis, and placebo effect.
Whatever it was, I decided that the event was worth seeing. So I went.
After all, false opinions are not always fraudulent and are not necessarily useless and harmful.
If you ask a martial artist in ancient time what’s the secret of his punch, he would say that the power comes from a subtle power called chi. The chi comes from somewhere three centimeters below the stomach.
Nowadays, modern scientists argue that the most powerful muscles in our body are those in our stomach. So it’s no wonder that martial artists in ancient times believed that their power comes from some mysterious force under the stomach.
Did the martial artists lie? No. Is their opinion useless? Of course not. They did put quite a punch. And who knows? Just who knows? The chi could really exist and can explain the powerful punch better than the strong stomach muscles theory.
The same way, I think Benny really believed that his power comes from God. Did he lie? No. Is it a useless belief? Well, let’s see.
I was amazed. I saw a lot of empty wheel chairs on the stage. I heard live testimony of people that couldn’t walk for four years then could suddenly walk, even jog.
I saw a kid that couldn’t see. Benny walked around the stage and the kid followed. After a while, the kid was no longer following. Benny puts up some of his fingers and asks how many fingers is he holding up. The kid answers correctly. Looks like he needs glasses.
Miracles or not, I see many lives improved. I think Benny is a really good guy that helps make our world a better place.
